Chief Technology/Training Officer (CTTO), Nelson Pigeau has been involved with aviation from the age of 10. From assisting the neighbour to assemble a WW2 trainer aircraft to joining the Royal Canadian Air Cadets, Nelson made it his lifelong mission to pursue his aviation interests. While in Air Cadets he earned both his Transport Canada Glider Pilots Licence, Private Pilot’s Licence, and various aviation related certificates in Air Studies, Air Frame and Aircraft Maintenance. Nelson went on to serve in a training capacity with the local Air Cadet squadron where he excelled!
Nelson has continued to be involved with aviation, including earning his Transport Canada Glider instructors rating, served as Chief Flight Instructor, Safety Officer and various positions with the Soaring Association of Canada. He also assisted in designing a Gliding Simulator to aid new (ab-initio) and seasoned pilots hone their skills.
In the mid 1980’s, Nelson attended the DeVry Institute of Technology in Calgary, to study Electronics Engineering. Since graduation, he has been very successful in the electronics industry, designing, manufacturing, testing products, as well as supplying subject matter expertise to industrial and military clients throughout North America for over 30 years.
Over the past few years, Nelson has been leveraging his skills to master the Unmanned Air System’s platform. He has designed and built several multi-copters, as well as, various electronic and software systems, including a flight termination system. Lately his time has been focused on developing training, and safety, as well as, proficient operations of ‘drones’.
Nelson is a member of Soaring Association of Canada Flight Safety Committee, International Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Unmanned Systems Canada.
Among other achievements, Nelson’s past 40 years of aviation expertise has been channeled into making the operations of UAV safe, enjoyable, and profitable.
